The final statutory consultation on the expansion of Heathrow airport opens next week, running from 18th June to 13th September 2019.
This will be the last chance for local residents and others affected by the expansion proposals to have their say before detailed plans are submitted. Following the consultation, Heathrow Airport Ltd expect to submit an application in 2020 for a Development Consent Order (DCO), a form of planning permission decided at the national level with limited opportunities for local residents and local authorities to influence the decision.
At the start of the consultation we expect more information to be released about the plans, including the replacement for Harmondsworth and Colnbrook detention centres, and about the consultation process. We will update this website with information on consultation events and other ways for residents to make their views known.
For more information about the consultation see the announcement from Heathrow Airport Ltd. Records of previous consultations are on the Heathrow Consultation Hub website, which will also have details of the final consultation when it opens.
